With Your Due Permission......

Sometimes I think, how would it have been if I had known the script of what is to come how easy life would have been, but somethings can never be scripted or even can't be predicted, it just takes a moment, and everything changes, it just takes a spur of moment to change you, to change what you had decided for future, but sometimes it's too late and sometime's it's just on not giving up till the end.

"I told you Shubh, my parents will never accept you, neither your parents would be accept me, we come from different castes, different backgrounds", she told him and walked away from him, and slowly got lost in the crowd, hoping for once, he calls her name and she would go running back to him, but he, he was too shocked to react.........

Throughout his life, Shubh had been running from his responsibilities, was never serious about anything, he never wanted to be bounded to someone or something, just wanted to be the master of his will, do whatever pleases him. It had been years now, he was away from home, and he had been living on his own terms. On the other hand, there was Devina, homely, outgoing, chirpy, making friends where-ever she went, famous in her group, the most adored in the group, while Shubh he loved staying indoors, had a selected group of friends, their numbers never added on the contrary got reduced with the passing years. On a broader look, they were exactly opposite to each other. But in some fronts they were too similar like both were impulsive, impatient and above all pretty short tempered.

As luck would have it, they both met in a party, whereas she was the life of party, everyone just revolving around this stunning girl, he was enjoying his solitary confinement at the bar. She happened to come over a drink when she found this specimen sitting alone and sipping lemonade. She could not stop her from striking the conversation after all opposites attract, don't they???

Devina : Hey you know, you can have a drink, it's for free, you don't need to pay over here.
Shubh: Sorry????
Devina: Nothing, anyways are you even invited to the party, or just walked in to have some free dinner and drinks.
Shubh: Well, you can check the guest list if that suits you, I promise you I will not leave this place, till you come back.

Frustration was eminent on her face, never was she given so blunt and rude answers, no matter how rude she had been, guys drooled over her to impress her, to let her talk  more with them, but here was a guy who neither paid attention to her looks nor to what she said. He was certainly different she thought. She decided to sit over for a chat.

Devina: Arghhhhh........You men!!!! Okay I will say it!!!! Won't you even buy me a drink???
Shubh: As far as I remember, somebody just informed me that it's for free, so technically how can I buy it for you, anyways Ma'm what you might like to drink??
Devina: Ahhhhh!!! So you just pretended that!!!! Good game mate!!! And yes, I would have one vodka martini please.
Shubh(to bar tender): Bro, one martini please.
Shubh(to Devina): I just am uncomfortable with strangers and if its agirl then the anxiety level some what increases.
Devina: I hope you are straight.......;)
Shubh: Of course!!! I am!!! By the way why did you hope so, having wrong intentions or what???
Devina: Hiihhaahaha....... Nice joke!!!! Anyways, leave it!!! By he way, I am Devina.
Shubh: And, people like calling me Shubh. And here's your martini.
Devina: So, sitting in solitude, heart break or something???
Shubh: Naah re!!! I was waiting for some pretty girl to come around and ask me what the matter was.
Devina(punching his arm): Flirting ha?????????
Shubh(rubbing his arm): Aah!!! I was just kidding. I love solitude, that's it.
Devina(grinning):  Hmm.... Party???? With music at it's full. What a nice place to be in solitude.
Shubh: Naah re, actually I work in Pune, I had to come to Mummbai because of my ex-colleague.
Devina: Ah!!! Shravan!!!! Nice.
Shubh: Oh...... So you know him???
Devina: Naah.... I wasn't invited in the party, it's my hobby to enter any party you see...
Shubh: Oops!!! What I meant was how do you know him?
Devina: Hmmm.... Now that's better. His sister and me are best friends and we studied in same class in MIT Pune.
Shubh: So are you from Pune or Mumbai??? Oops.... You can be from anywhere. What I intended to ask was where are you from?
Devina: Pune, only.
And then came the vamp, her best friend who literally dragged her towards the floor, she invited him too, bu he politely refused, as he had to leave, she felt sad, but she ccouldn't reason with herself for the feeling, but she was somewhat happy as they had exchanged their nos. and he had promised to stay in touch.

It had been a week, there was no sign of his message, Debina used to see his profile, hoping he texts, but it never just happened. She thought of texting herself but thought what if he had forgotten her, that was not how she was, she always used to receive text first, but she was changing. She decided to text him.

Devina: Seems, somebody, has forgotten me....:(
Shubh: Oh!!! Devina!!! How have you been???
Devina: Oh atleast, you remember my name.
Shubh: Ah!!! Devi!!!  You never ever lose a chance to be sarcastic, do you??? How can someb
Devina: Hahahaa... Never, by the way, devi??? I like it. :)
Shubh: So how have you been???
Devina: Good. You???
Shubh: Me too. So when are we meeting again???

And Devi was on cloud nine.She was excited to see him again. They met, and the meetings increased, the conversations too. She told him her parents never let her go out after 9 P.M. and that was the reason she ran away to Mumbai every second or third weekend. The same reason she was not able to go with him for dinner but she craved for it, a candle light dinner with him. She offered him to umpteen times to accompany her to  Mumbai where they can be free birds, but he always refused, she never understood why. As the time passed by the things started getting complicated, there used to be fights, then the crying phase and then the back together phase. Their opposite traits attracted them whilst their similar traits repelled them. They couldn't live with each other and they couldn't live without each other. He had sometimes told her, though he doesn't believed in the institution of marriage but if it meant that he will stay with her forever, then he wanted to do so, Devina told him her parents would never agree for their relation, she would never go against them and he told he could do anything just to be with her, even if it meant to fight for their approval. Devina knew him too well, she knew he was not serious about his life and might be also for her, so Devi thought of testing Shubh once, she called him to meet her in CCD. On the scheduled time, Shubh reached, but he could smell something was not right. Before he could say anything, Devi said:

"I told you Shubh, my parents will never accept you, neither your parents would be accept me, we come from different castes, different backgrounds", she told him and walked away from him, and slowly got lost in the crowd, hoping for once, he calls her name and she would go running back to him, but he, he was too shocked to react.........

Both were broken, felt betrayed and decided to move on  without the other one in their life. But, here Shubh was different, he had a very few friends, so he didn't let anyone go easily. He called her several times, sent her innumerable texts still  no response. Suddenly he saw her check-in to a restaurant near by on FB. He knew it was his last chance. He rehearsed what he had to say to her, several times. As he entered the restro, his eyes were only searching for her, he spotted her, his pulse rate raised, his heart missed a beat and then it started beating faster than it had ever as he approached near her, the whole world didn't matter to him at that time. As he reached her, he started telling her, "Look!!! Devi!!! Please don't ignore me, I know I have been an ass but you know I can't live without you", only see her face had gone pale with fear, little he had realized she was there with her parents.  He was surely in mess, and had put Devi into a greater one.

Devi's Father(DF): Young man, would you silent walk out of here or should I call someone???
Shubh: Sir, I want to talk something with you too.
DF : Well, this certainly is not a place, you can come to my office or home after taking an appointment. It seems my daughter knows you, she might give your no., wouldn't you Devina???
Devi had gone numb, she had not expected this.
Shubh: No Sir, I am already very late and it might get too late, I may not get an opportunity to redeem myself again.
DF: Okay boy, you have 5 mins.
Then started Shubh:

"Hi Sir, I am Shubham. I hail from Ujjain, and I love your daughter. I know you can't trust me but you can give me a chance to gain your trust. I do not boast of loving your daughter the most anyone can because you people love her more than anyone, but if somebody can love her to that level that they can lose anything for her it's me. When she was in my life I had no aim, no goal, I always thought what I had to do in my life, and I had no answers, but when she left me and went from my life, I realized, that she was my aim, my goal was to spend my life with her. I never promise that we will never fight, we will, but I promise you I will never let her go. You may take your time, to analyze me and decide whatever your decision is for me, but wit your due permission just for once I want to take your daughter out for dinner."

Tears...... were there in Devi's eyes. Her father too was shocked. He had not expected this even her mother was speechless. The whole family was stunned, they hadn't seen this coming. However, her father gathered himself back and told him he needs some time to take his decision. And Shubh left gracefully. The family had their dinner and left for home. Not a word was spoken whilst having dinner or returning. Next day, he received a call,it was her father,"Hey son, at what time you will leave my daughter at home". Devi too listened him. She was going to go for her dream date with her dream man. It was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, where they might not be happily ever after but they had each other forever.
